Slow paint with depth
Oil paint dries over days and weeks, and that slowness is what gives it depth. Here you can find oil paintings for sale in which pigment, linseed oil and time work together.
Oil dries by oxidation, not by evaporation. Transitions therefore stay soft for a long time, and layers can be blended wet into wet or built up as glazes. The result is a glow that seems to come from within, above all in dark tones.

Wall space and light
Oil paintings love even light and a wall without a radiator beneath. The surface reflects gently, and side light brings out the brushwork. Hang the painting so the edge is not bumped all the time.
From technique to price
If you search systematically, begin with oil on canvas or a style such as Impressionism before comparing price bands. In the listing, check whether a varnish was applied, since it protects and restores depth to the color.
