Two color worlds
Acrylic on canvas meets oil paint here: a mixed technique in which fast underpainting and deep oil layers come together. If you want paintings in this combination for sale, you will often find expressive and gestural works.
Acrylic delivers matte, fast-drying fields and contours. Oil above brings gloss, depth and soft gradients. Order matters: oil does not adhere lastingly under acrylic, so it comes last on the picture. Popular are strong fields of color where the acrylic underpainting shows at the edges.

Tension in the surface
Different sheen creates small reflections that shift as you walk. Such works do especially well on a wall you pass by. Side light strengthens the effect. Up close the layer structure is easy to follow.
Budget and care
By price, such works appear at 500 to 1,000 euro or 1,000 to 2,000 euro. Keep them dust free, never wipe wet, and ask about a varnish that protects both paints evenly.
