Paper as a picture support
A painting on paper feels immediate: the paint sits right on the fiber ground, and every movement of the brush stays readable. You can find paintings on paper for sale here in styles from collage to abstract and in techniques from watercolor to mixed media.
Good paper is made of cotton or cellulose, is acid-free and takes up color differently. Rough paper gives texture, smooth gives sharpness. Because it is light, it suits large formats that put almost no weight on the wall.

Choosing by direction
You can filter by style, such as collage, abstract work or urban and pop, or by technique such as watercolor, mixed media and acrylic, collage on canvas. In price, under 500 euro and 2,000 to 5,000 euro are possible.
Frame and light
Paper likes a mat, distance from the glass and subdued light. Avoid south-facing windows and damp rooms. Store unframed pictures flat in portfolios with acid-free interleaving. Unframed sheets in particular are easy to compare when you look at them side by side and pay attention to paper surface, weight and margin width.
