Paper as a serious support
A painting on paper can carry as much weight as a canvas when composition and materials are right. If you want to find paintings on paper for sale between 2,000 and 5,000 euro, collages and mixed-media sheets give a first sense of the range.
Heavy cotton paper, mounted sheets or paper on wood can hold dense paint. The surface is smoother than canvas, so detail stays crisp and colors glow matte. Formats run from palm-sized to a full wall. Tall formats and triptychs from several sheets are also easy to realize on paper.

What to expect at this level
From 2,000 to 5,000 euro, originals often show large formats, established positions and carefully built mixed techniques. The description should name the paper, the mounting and the framing clearly, so you can judge the work properly.
Protection and placement
Paper needs glass, ideally UV-filtering, and a spot away from radiators and kitchen steam. A mat keeps the sheet off the glass. A sheet treated that way stays fresh for decades.
