Movement becomes picture
Expressive, gestural painting shows how movement settles as a trace on paper. Paintings in the expressive and gestural style on paper are for sale here, also as pure painting or in mixed technique.
Wide brushes, the edge of a hand, a sponge or a knife leave marks you can almost hear. On paper these gestures stay sharp because no weave breaks them. Thick paint and fine ink lines stand side by side in one sheet.

Powerful on the wall
Gestural works hit hardest when they have room. A wide mat and some distance from furniture hold the energy. For price, you will find sheets from 500 to 1,000 euro, and larger formats call for a calm wall for that reason alone.
Inspect the sheet
Ask for the paper weight, since bold gestures need a strong sheet that will not tear or wave. Whether the margins are original shows in splashes that run past the edge of the picture.
