Material with a history
A collage on paper assembles pieces that originally had nothing to do with each other. Collage-style paintings on paper are for sale here, showing that order of found piece and color in many different tones.
Old letters, tissue paper, poster remnants and cardboard bring their own traces into a picture. The artist cuts, tears, overlaps and paints over until a new whole appears. Edges and folds stay as signs of the making.

Settling into a room

Questions on durability
Acidic newsprint yellows over time unless it has been treated. Ask about isolating layers and adhesive. A short answer from the artist says a lot about the care that went into the work.
