Formats from 90 x 70 to 165 x 170 cm.

The movement stays visible

Gestural painting shows how it was made: a swing from the shoulder, paint that splashes, drips or gets rubbed in by hand, traces of speed and hesitation. Expressive, gestural paintings for sale between 2,000 and 5,000 euro bring an energy into a home that you can feel even on quiet days.

Unlike figurative painting, the moment of execution counts here. Wide bristle brushes, squeegees or bare hands leave marks that cannot be repeated. Each painting is therefore also a record. It may certainly get loud: black, red and white in strong contrast are common in this kind of painting.

Between acrylic and oil

With acrylic on canvas, fast gestures stay crisp and set at once, while oil on canvas allows softer transitions and thick impasto that still shows as a ridge weeks later.

Presence in the room

Gestural pictures demand space. A free wall without neighbors lets the lines swing out. Light should arrive from the side so splashes and relief traces become visible. Plan some distance from furniture so that the movements in the picture can keep swinging out into the room.
