Water as co-creator
Abstract watercolors live from chance and from control over water: paint runs, blooms and dries in fine edges. Here you can find abstract watercolors for sale, on paper, with ink, acrylic or gouache at their side.
On wet paper pigments spread into soft clouds, on dry paper they stay sharp. Combining both creates space and depth without painting an object. The transparency of the paint lets the pale paper shine through and gives the picture a lightness of its own.

Paper in the room
Watercolor fades in sunlight. A spot away from direct rays, behind glass or a UV-protective pane, preserves the colors. A paper sheet with a wide mat gives the surface air and turns even a small format into a calm wall piece.
On buying
Ask about paper weight and type, because they decide how the sheet reacts to moisture. Framed works should be mounted acid-free, since acidic board yellows the sheet from behind.
