Water, ink, tempo
Gestural watercolor is a gamble of water and speed: paint is flung, left to run, cut through with ink and gouache. Here you can find expressive watercolors for sale that combine spontaneity with the lightness of paper.
In gestural watercolor the painter reaches beyond watercolor: ink delivers hard lines, gouache opaque accents, acrylic sets specks. The sheet becomes a surface where different speeds meet.

Hanging with distance
Paper pictures benefit from framing that does not overpower. A light frame, a generous mat and glass with UV protection let the movement breathe. Avoid direct sunlight, because inks and watercolors fade very differently.
For the choice
Paper weight and the material of the backing decide how the sheet behaves over the years. Ask whether it was mounted acid-free and whether several kinds of paint are involved, so you can choose the right lighting. Framed watercolors should not touch the glass; a spacer prevents moisture marks.
