Edges, fields, rhythm
Abstract acrylic on canvas works with clear edges, rich fields and layers that do not dissolve each other. Here you can find abstract acrylic paintings on canvas for sale, ranging from cool geometry to free gesture.
Because acrylic dries quickly, painters can set layer upon layer without anything bleeding. This yields sharply drawn lines, matte fields and translucent glazes side by side. Masking tape leaves almost graphic contours that a brush could hardly draw so straight.

Color in the room
Large areas of color respond to the light in a room. A blue looks cooler in north light, a yellow warmer against the western sun. Try photos of the picture in your own room before you decide, and look at the colors of furniture nearby.
Practical points
Ask whether the acrylic work arrives with painted edges and how deep the stretcher is. A light protective coat can keep fingerprints off matte areas.
