Shapes in balance
Modern art on paper is often reduced, constructed and free of narrative. Modern mixed media on paper is for sale here when clarity, planes and placed accents appeal to you more than a wealth of detail.
Typical are clear relations between color fields, lines and cut-out shapes. A paper collage can act as a precise plane, almost as if printed. A fine pencil stroke or a stripe of watercolor sets counterweights.

For the interior
Modern sheets suit tidy rooms with clean furniture, but also contrast with old buildings and wood. A frame without decorative molding and a mat with slightly more margin at the bottom than the top have proven reliable. For stronger color, look at painting; for a lower starting point, pieces under 500 euro. A small rule of thumb: the center of the sheet should sit at about eye level. With reduced works a crooked hang is spotted at once, so checking with a spirit level is worth the effort. Hanging two modern sheets close together can also work well.
Clarify details
Ask about paper weight, the size without the frame and whether several parts are glued together.
