Feeling becomes color
Expressionist painting exaggerates color and form so that a feeling becomes visible in the picture: glaring contrasts, heavy outlines, figures and landscapes that bend. Expressionist paintings for sale between 5,000 and 10,000 euro often bring mighty formats and a settled, unmistakable handwriting at this level.
In expressionism the mood decides which color an object gets. A field may glow, a face may shimmer green, a sky may tear apart. The outline is often dark and broad, as if holding the picture together so it does not fly apart. The larger the canvas, the more physical this feels.

Four ways of technique
Whether oil on canvas with heavy ridges, acrylic on canvas with glaring planes or spray paint with soft mist, each technique gives the expression a different temperature. Oil feels warm and dense, acrylic hard, spray fleeting.
Space, light, preparation
Large expressive pictures need a wall without distraction and some distance from the viewer. Plan hanging and transport too, and have signature, condition and certificate confirmed before the picture moves in.
