Originals in this selection, Impressionism, 5,000 to 10,000 euro.
The flicker of color
Impressionist painting in this price band often shows the assurance of long practice: loose brush strokes that settle into landscape, garden or city light. Impressionist paintings for sale between 5,000 and 10,000 euro let you hope for larger formats and finer color gradations.
What decides is the balance of spontaneity and control. The stroke looks thrown down but sits exactly. Warm tones in the light, cool ones in the shadows, and between them small breaks that the eye assembles itself. The eye has to finish the work, and that is exactly where the liveliness of such pictures comes from.

Oil remains the leading paint
Most works of this kind arise in oil on canvas, because the soft paint can be blended within the picture. Oil paint on other supports works too, for instance on wood or board.
Frame, wall and caution
Impressionist pictures gain from a stylish frame profile and from hanging at eye level. Ask about varnish, ground and shipping packaging, since larger oil pictures need careful protection.
