Worlds with their own logic
Surreal large formats build whole worlds from things that never fit together before. You will find surreal oil paintings from 2,000 to 5,000 euro for sale here, with picture spaces you want to walk into.
The larger the picture, the more room for scenes: horizons on three levels, figures in rows, objects that float. Oil allows the plasticity and depth of focus with which the fantastic appears real. Shadow and light follow laws of their own.

A picture as counterpart
A large surreal painting puts a silent counterpart on the wall. It suits rooms where people linger and talk, such as salons, libraries and practices. Give it air: the riddle needs distance.
Asking for background
Good descriptions tell something about the making, templates and symbols. Ask about technique, varnish and certificate. With paintings of this size it pays to check the back and edges in photos before deciding.
