Friction in the material
Mixed media gives expressionism more friction: acrylic, spray paint and other ingredients condense into areas where you discover layers. Expressionist mixed-media paintings for sale appeal if you like density and roughness.
Where acrylic meets spray paint, breaks appear: matte beside glossy spots, smooth beside grainy ones. Expressionism uses such contrasts to make inner unrest visible. The picture reads like a record of decisions.

Concentrated format
Mixed-media works are often compact and densely made. They fit rooms where you step up close: hallways, studies, stairwells. Avoid strong reflections, since they hide details.
Care and questions
Different materials age differently. Ask about varnish, support and lightfastness of the colors, and request close-ups of the rough passages. Simple dust removal with a soft brush is usually enough. Hang the picture on a wall free of vibrations, since loose passages can come off over time. A photo of the back confirms solid work.
