Strange things in the picture
Mixed media fits surrealism, because materials from different worlds meet. If you want surrealist mixed-media paintings with oil paint for sale, you will find pictures where found objects, paper or drawing supplement an oil painting.
A glued-on sheet beside painted skin, a piece of cloth in a landscape: the unexpected comes from the material itself. Oil paint ties the parts together with glazes and shadows into a scene that seems to belong together. Sometimes a piece of reality literally projects from the canvas, which heightens the surprise.

In the room
Because the surface is seldom entirely smooth, raking light casts small shadows that bring the picture to life. Keep the work out of children’s reach if attached parts are delicate. Such works have a strong object character.
Clarify durability
Ask how the added materials are fixed and whether paper and oil were separated. A deep frame protects raised parts.
