Why oil fits the dream
Surrealism in oil joins precision and dream, since hardly any material holds so many fine transitions. If you want surrealist oil paintings for sale, you can choose by mood, from quiet rooms to populated fantasy landscapes.
Built up layer by layer, oil stays transparent enough to show spaces with depth. A sky can run through many blues without any streaks showing. That produces the smooth, almost glassy look of many dream pictures. Popular are figures in empty landscapes, interlaced architecture and animals in unfamiliar roles.

Space and atmosphere
These paintings need calm around them. A single picture on a free wall works stronger than a dense hang. Dimmed light in the room supports the mood. Even small formats work when the picture space is composed with precision.
What to look for
Notes on support, varnish and dimensions belong in the description. For very fine details, a close-up is worth asking for before you decide.
