Textile as part of the picture
Fabric in painting can serve as canvas, as support or as an applied layer, and every textile brings its own feel. If you want to buy paintings with fabric, you are choosing surfaces you can almost touch. All of them are paintings for sale.
Velvet, linen, silk or lace accept paint in different ways. Some fabrics are painted, others sewn in, glued on or layered over one another. This creates reliefs, folds and transitions that a brush alone could never produce. When viewing, it pays to inspect the surface in raking light. Weave, grain direction and seams cast small shadows and show how the material was worked. The back also reveals a lot about how it is fastened.

Warmth on the wall
Textile elements absorb sound and feel softer than smooth fields of paint. In a bedroom or living room they bring a calm, tactile note. Dust settles more easily in fibers, so a frame with glass or an occasional careful pass with a brush attachment helps.
Search by technique and style
Fabric pieces often combine with Mixed-media or with the style Collage, and both subpages give a good overview.
