The works come straight from the studios: on Artplaner the artists list their work themselves and offer it under their own name. At this moment 1,647 works are publicly visible. Who your contractual seller is for a given purchase is set out in the terms and conditions for buyers: the contract is concluded either with the artist as seller or with Artplaner as seller. Enquiries about a work are answered within 24 hours.
Depending on the plan the artist is on, Most artists pay 28 percent of the sale price to Artplaner. The plans list 30 and 35 percent; many artists have individual agreements that differ, in both directions. Galleries usually take 40 to 50 percent. Which rate applies follows from the agreement with the artist concerned, not from the individual work; it makes no difference to the price you see. For you as a buyer that figure is above all information about where your money goes: out of the same sale price, noticeably more is left for the artist on Artplaner than under a usual gallery margin. The difference is expressly not a discount for you. The commission is retained from the sale price rather than added on top of it, and it changes nothing about the fact that the works are listed by the artists themselves and offered under their own name. If you want to know how a particular price came about, ask before you buy; enquiries are answered within 24 hours.
That is up to the artist. Many artists on Artplaner include a certificate of authenticity with their works, but it is not guaranteed. Artplaner therefore cannot promise one for every work. If a certificate matters to you, ask before you buy; the answer arrives within 24 hours.
Yes. Registration is required in order to use the platform and is free of charge; a current e-mail address and a password are enough. That is set out in the terms and conditions for buyers, section 2. Once registered you can view the works on offer and place an order. Each buyer creates exactly one account; passing the account on to third parties is not permitted. Membership for buyers is free, runs for an unlimited period and can be terminated by either side at any time in text form, without a notice period (section 9).
With the dispatch confirmation. The sequence is set out in the terms and conditions for buyers, section 4: you place the order through the platform and can check and correct your entries before submitting it. You then receive an e-mail confirming that the order has been received; that is expressly not yet an acceptance. The contract is concluded only once Artplaner confirms to you that the work has been dispatched, either with Artplaner as seller or with the artist as seller. If a work cannot be delivered, no contract comes about and any amount already paid is refunded in full.
Within 24 hours. This applies to questions about a single work as much as to questions before a purchase. If you would rather write in general terms, you can reach Artplaner through the contact form.
What applies is what the legal texts say, and nothing else: the cancellation policy and the terms and conditions for buyers. This FAQ deliberately states no deadlines of its own, so that nothing here can differ from the binding texts.
This page deliberately states no blanket rule about shipping costs, delivery times, packaging or payment methods, because there is no promise that holds for every work. What is binding is what the terms and conditions for buyers say. Everything else you settle before you buy by sending an enquiry about the work; it is answered within 24 hours.
The price of a work includes statutory VAT and, unless something else has been agreed, excludes shipping costs, which can be viewed on the platform. That is set out in section 6 of the terms and conditions for buyers. The same section lets Artplaner charge a service fee plus VAT per order, shown to you before you place the order. That fee is refunded only if the order is cancelled before the work has been dispatched. For delivery to an international destination, import duties and taxes may arise, and buyers are responsible for paying them (section 5). Prices can change over time, but not for an order already confirmed by a dispatch confirmation. A work in the shopping cart does not reserve the price shown; the price on the work page governs, and the final calculation is made when the contract of sale is concluded (section 7). This page therefore states no flat rate that would hold for every work.
Under section 5 of the terms and conditions for buyers, the order is carried out as quickly as possible; the terms name no fixed delivery time. As soon as the work has been dispatched you are given a tracking number. Delivery is complete once the work has been delivered to the address you gave. If dispatch cannot be carried out at the stated time for reasons for which neither Artplaner nor the artist is responsible, you will be informed.
Membership for buyers is free and can be terminated at any time in text form, without a notice period. Artplaner then archives the personal data, including name, e-mail address, telephone number, messages and uploaded files, and deletes the profile finally no later than six months after the contract ends. Excepted is data needed to enforce claims or subject to statutory retention obligations. That is set out in the terms and conditions for buyers, section 9. What happens to your data beyond that is set out in the privacy policy.
