Handwriting instead of direction
Large oil painting that follows no style lives on the conviction of its handwriting. You will find oil paintings without style assignment from 2,000 to 5,000 euro for sale here, with individual expression on a large scale.
Where a label is missing, color, structure and composition convince. Such pictures often arise from long engagement with a theme that fits no school. Oil accompanies this work ideally, because it permits reworking without scars.

With an open eye
Take time to view a picture from different distances. If you like to compare, leave two favorites up as photos on your screen for a few days. Good painting stands up to nearness and distance. Imagine how it sits in the room morning and evening, with artificial light and in daylight mood.
Evidence and care
Ask for dimensions, support, technique, date and signature. A certificate gives security, photos of back and edges show the condition. Ask whether a varnish is present, and clarify how the picture is packed for shipping.
