Freedom on a large scale
Some large oil pictures cannot be put in a drawer and hold their own for exactly that reason. You can find oil paintings without style assignment from 5,000 to 10,000 euro for sale here, with a visual language all their own.
Where no school decides what a picture should be, the painter’s experience decides. A large format gives this experience room: paint may turn heavy or run thin, lines may break off, areas may stay empty. Oil keeps these decisions visibly fixed.

Looking with patience
Such pictures respond to time. You see them differently in passing than when sitting in front of them. Choose a spot where you see the picture regularly but not constantly. A bright, quiet background sharpens the eye.
Security through details
Dimensions, support, year of creation, signature and certificate belong in the description of paintings of this class. Ask also about varnish, drying time and delivery route. That turns a first impression into a well-founded decision.
