A surface that carries
Large abstract planes in acrylic on canvas live on clarity: cleanly set edges, rich tones and a build that carries even from several yards away. Abstract acrylic paintings on canvas for sale between 5,000 and 10,000 euro are best chosen by checking format, edge and sheen.
With larger formats it shows whether a composition really works. A field of color has to hold tension, a line has to give direction. Acrylic allows even, controlled planes here and deliberate disturbances through texture paste or squeegee. Standing before such a picture, you often sense that the painter decided every edge consciously.

Checking light and color
Intense acrylic colors change with the lighting. Neutral white light shows tones cleanly, warm light softens red and yellow. If possible, see the picture under different lighting conditions. Hang the picture at eye level and leave at least an arm’s length of wall free all around.
Technical details
On large canvases, stable stretcher bars with cross braces matter. Ask about the frame depth, the protective coat and the packing for transport.
