“Between memory and fantasy” explores the subtle complexity underlying what we see at first glance. The final white layer doesnt erase the underlying colors, but rather softens and blurs them, just as our experiences, feelings, and memories fade with time.
Stories dont disappear; they transform, fold back, and are preserved in the memory of the canvas. Here, the top layer doesnt erase; it opens a space and invites us to imagine what persists beneath the surface, to perceive the silent traces of the past.
The painting contains various coats of acrylic paint made by mixing pigments with different mediums on an acrylic base. Once dry between coat and coat they are sanded and scratched off till former layers of paint will appear. That way the painting receives its profoundness.
The canvas is stretched over professionally made wooden stretcher bars.
The sides are painted so the art work is ready to hang.
