Color that shows an attitude
Painting is the umbrella term for color on a support, from delicate veils to thick layers. Paintings for sale can be narrowed by style, medium and price class, which quickly leads to works that match your taste.
A painting arises from pigment, binder and handwriting. Standing in front of an original, you see brushwork, layering and small corrections that no reproduction carries across. That is why it pays to examine works in detail and to ask what the medium adds to the picture.
