One art, many paths
Painting covers everything that goes onto a ground with brush, knife, or roller, and that breadth is its charm. Paintings under 500 euro for sale can be chosen by style, for example abstract or impressionism.
Whether oil paint, acrylic, or ink: each medium behaves differently. Oil stays soft for a long time, acrylic sets quickly, ink runs in fine lines. Choosing an original also means choosing a way of working. A sketch on paper can be painting just as much as a large panel picture.

Think it together with the room
Ask yourself whether the picture should calm or enliven. Calm comes from muted tones and large areas, liveliness from contrast and movement. Wall color and daylight have a say too. A wall with room to breathe makes even forceful pieces feel calm.
At the under-500-euro level
Originals here often include smaller canvases, painting board, works on paper, and studies. Exact notes on size, material, and signature in the listing matter, as do notes on care and hanging. Ask about how it came about if you want to know more of the background.
