Painted emptiness
A tower without a door, a square with a shadow too long: metaphysical painting builds places that do not exist but look like homesickness. Metaphysical paintings in acrylic and mixed media for sale combine this emptiness with materials that make it tangible.
A sky in even acrylic, plus architecture with clear planes: that is how breadth appears. Worked-in material such as sand in the ground or paper as a facade gives the space skin. Typical are long shadows that do not match the light, and clear color zones for sky, ground and architecture. This very order gives the paintings the mystery that is rarely put into words.

Calm for rooms
Hang such paintings alone on a wall, without neighbors. The effect depends on the eye being able to stroll inside the picture. Side daylight makes shadows read like real shadows.
Questions before acquiring
Description and photos should state format, depth and hanging system. Ask about the surface: matte varnishes swallow reflections, which suits this kind of painting. Note where the signature sits too.
