Precise brushwork, puzzling content
A clock that melts, a room without a floor: surreal painting plays on the irritation of how precisely something is painted. Surrealist paintings in acrylic and mixed media for sale appeal to anyone who enjoys realistic technique mixed with riddles.
Acrylic can be worked in glazes or opaque layers, so soft gradients sit beside hard edges. Mixed media parts such as collage pieces or gold leaf bring foreign bodies into the picture, stressing exactly the unreal. A detail often noticed late: small, very precisely painted objects stand in a landscape that stays blurred or empty. This gradient between precision and emptiness creates the pull that holds surreal paintings for so long.

Where a puzzle picture hangs
Paintings with depth work best in rooms where you linger: library, living room, office. A dark frame strengthens contrast, a light one lets the scene float.
Check points for your choice
Compare the support, format and depth of the picture. If foreign objects are glued on, ask about adhesive and sealing. Photos taken in daylight show the color mood most honestly.
