The seam as design tool
Modern mixed media thinks in constructions: you build, join, layer and let people see how. Modern mixed media sculptures for sale go with an interest in material mixes and clean workmanship.
Concrete beside steel, glass beside oak, aluminum beside stone: the transitions are the actual punchline. In the modern reading they are set precisely, almost technically, without flourish. That makes the works feel calm and tidy.

From entry to class
First pieces the size of a tabletop object appear in the 500 to 1,000 euro band, larger constructions with more complex technique in 2,000 to 5,000 euro. If you like metal as the main material, you find a wide range there.
Care and condition
Material mixes age differently, so check rust protection, glue joints and lacquers. Direct sun and damp are rarely good. Ask for maintenance notes when several substances come together.
