A unique contemporary female bust sculpted in steel and brass, where light, air, and metal intertwine
Original artwork description
Belisama Lutchia is a one-of-a-kind contemporary sculpture by French artist Philippe Buil, exploring the female form through his signature metal lace technique. Crafted from steel and brass, this life-size bust reveals a delicate interplay between strength and transparency, where light flows freely through the openwork structure.
The sculpture is built through a meticulous process in which molten metal is shaped drop by drop, creating an organic, lace-like texture that gives the impression of movement and transformation. The contrast between the dark steel and the luminous brass lines enhances the curves of the feminine body, adding both elegance and depth.
Rather than depicting a specific identity, the face and form emerge subtly, evoking a universal vision of femininity—both powerful and fragile, present yet elusive. The name “Belisama,” inspired by ancient mythology, invites a poetic and symbolic interpretation, bridging memory, spirituality, and imagination.
Balancing density and lightness, this sculpture embodies a unique artistic language where material seems to breathe. Signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, it is a striking collector’s piece that captures both strength and delicacy in a timeless expression.
