Stillness with a contradiction
Empty squares, arcades and shadows that fall in the wrong direction: metaphysical painting shows a world that stands still and unsettles you anyway. When you look at metaphysical paintings for sale, you are choosing a mood more than a subject.
Typical are clearly built spaces with an exaggerated vanishing point, towers, arches and shop windows without people. The perspective is almost right, but only almost. How it reads in a room
