Light and dark as a stage
Classical painting lives on composition, light and craft. The classical oil paintings from 500 to 1,000 euro that you can find for sale here connect to still life, portrait and landscape of the old school.

Dignity in the living space
Classical motifs bring calm and depth into a room. They suit wooden furniture, rugs and books and feel at home in dining rooms or libraries. A profiled frame in gold or dark wood underlines the craft of the picture.
Condition and varnish
With oils in the classical manner the varnish plays a big part, since it secures depth and sheen. Ask about the type of varnish, its age and the drying. If you value fine execution, have detail shots of the surface sent to you.
