Craft as attitude
Classical oil painting joins composition, light and patience as the great schools taught it. You will find classical oil paintings from 1,000 to 2,000 euro for sale here, with still life, landscape and portrait in a large format.
Classical painters build the picture from dark to light, apply glazes and set the highlights at the end. This order, fat over lean, secures the structure. You see it in glowing shadows, in fabrics that feel heavy, and in fine transitions.

Hanging with dignity
A classical painting of this size tolerates a frame with profile and patina. It suits chests of drawers, libraries or spots beside bookcases. Soft raking light brings the glazes to life, while ceiling light from above weakens the effect.
Care and papers
Ask about varnish and the age of the paint layer. Oil paintings of this make should face few temperature swings. An original comes with signature, date and, if possible, a certificate describing dimensions and technique.
