Scraps gain weight
Paper is the natural material of collage: cutting, tearing, gluing, painting over. You can find collages on paper under 500 euro for sale here if you want found pieces and color united on one sheet.
In a paper collage, picture and support are made of the same stuff. That gives the work its own cohesion. Printed pages, maps, sheet music or packaging become surfaces that the artist links with paint, chalk or ink.

Hanging small rows
Collages are ideal for series in which motifs and colors recur. Three sheets in the same frame, hung with even spacing, make a wall that feels lively and ordered at once.
Asking about durability
Ask about adhesives and whether acid-free paper was used. Printed papers fade faster in the sun than artist paper. UV-protective glass and a spot away from the window extend their lifespan. If you collect several collages, look for similar formats and paper types so they fit together as a group later.
