Dense layers on paper
Mixed media on paper between 500 and 1,000 euro often shows elaborate layering: collage, paint, drawing and structure. You can find mixed-media paintings on paper from 500 to 1,000 euro for sale here if you like complex surfaces.
In this price tier, mixed-media sheets are often so dense that the paper hardly shows anymore. Layers of paint, glued papers, chalk and graphite lie on top of each other. A relief emerges that only reveals its full depth in raking light.

A frame with room
Dense works need a frame with distance from the glass, ideally with object depth. The paper must not be pressed. Ask about the highest point of the relief so the framer can plan correctly.
Clarifying durability
The more materials are involved, the more adhesives and fixing matter. Inquire about acid-free papers and how loose parts are attached. Avoid direct sun and damp rooms. Anyone who looks at works of this kind regularly will still find new places after weeks where material and drawing interlock.
