Wash by wash
Watercolor on paper between 500 and 1,000 euro joins technique and sensitivity: large washes, fine details, a steady hand. You can find watercolors on paper from 500 to 1,000 euro for sale here if you like watercolor at a high level.
Larger watercolors require planning, since the paper dries unevenly. Someone who works confidently keeps gradients open, sets details at the right moment and leaves white standing. The result looks effortless, but is not.

Recognizing what is good
Good watercolor paper is cotton-based, heavy and acid-free. Descriptions should name type, weight and size. Look for clean edges and for a sheet that lies flat.
Hanging with protection
UV-protective glass and a mat of acid-free board make sense for watercolors of this tier. Do not hang them opposite large windows or above heating. In rooms with fluctuating humidity, a backing board helps. Photos in daylight and detail views of the washes help you judge the quality of the gradients before you decide.
