Originals in this selection, Mixed-media, Pencil, 500 to 1,000 euro.
Material with a will of its own
Collage, color and pencil meet in mixed media, and in this price tier dense sheets with a life of their own often appear. You can find mixed-media paintings with pencil from 500 to 1,000 euro for sale here if you appreciate layers and chance.
Pencil connects what would otherwise not get along: torn paper, fabric, color fields. A fine line is enough to bind parts together or to set them against each other. The result feels like a conversation in which every layer has something to say.

Deciding with the eye
Mixed work demands close looking: how things are glued, how firmly material sits, whether a relief has room behind glass. Ask about this before you have it framed. Hang the picture on a wall with soft, directional light that stresses surfaces.
Relief and frame depth
Where paper, fabric or wax is applied, the picture needs a deep shadow-box frame. Ask about the highest point of the work so the frame fits. Behind glass, nothing should touch the pane, otherwise pressure marks appear.
