Quiet color fields with body
One strip of color field, a fine edge, plenty of bare canvas: minimalist painting lives on what it leaves out. If you want mixed media paintings in a minimalist style for sale, expect calm with textures that only show themselves on a second look.
Minimalist painting works with few tones and clear borders. In the mixed media version the fields are often not quite smooth: marble dust in the ground, charcoal under the color or a layer of wax turns flat color into a body that returns light in its own way.

A picture that needs space
Precisely because little happens, the picture needs air around it. Plan for free wall area and check whether a floating shadow-gap frame is intended, since a wide frame would drown out the reduction. If you prefer something more tangible, natural stone shows related materials.
The second look
Hang the picture where you walk past every day. Minimalist paintings reveal fine differences in sheen and grain only when the light changes. A listing photo rarely shows this, so ask for close-ups of the surface and the edges.
