Brush dabs and paper layers
Impressionist painting with mixed media bets on patches of color that join in the eye. You can buy impressionist mixed media painting for sale here, for example with acrylic and often between 500 and 1,000 euro.
The picture arises from many small touches. A piece of tissue paper under the glaze, a breath of sand in the paint: from these small things the shimmering surface is made. It reads best from three or four paces away.

Hanging and lighting
Impressionist pictures like soft light. A direct spot can make the dabs gleam and flatten the color. Set the picture on a wall with side daylight instead, ideally in a room with seating.
Hints on choosing
See whether the paint layers are sealed, and ask about varnish. Acrylic dries fast, mixes with many additives and is sturdy, but needs protection from constant light. Compare formats and choose by available space.
