Matte and mineral
Painting on plaster is an old technique that made history as fresco and finds new forms today. Painted mixed media with plaster is for sale if you want to join matte color with a tangible surface.
On plaster, paint behaves differently than on canvas. It is absorbed deeply and so looks dull and velvety. Pigments keep their strength, and fine cracks often form a natural texture. In mixed media, paper, sand or pigment powder complement the painted surface.

Mind the room climate
Plaster reacts to air humidity and takes it up. Do not hang works in bathrooms or cellars, but in dry, evenly heated rooms. Ask about the support board and weight before you choose the wall.
Search and narrow
If you search for a style, start at Abstract, if you go by budget, at 2,000 to 5,000 euro. Take dust off with a soft brush. Avoid touching the surface, since skin oil stays visible on the porous material.
