Smooth ground, clear color
Painting on metal gives color a cool brilliance that canvas does not know. Painted mixed media on metal is for sale if you want paintings with gloss, hardness and depth of surface.
Because metal absorbs hardly any paint, every tone stays pure. Red stays red, blue stays blue, and white can stand dazzlingly bright. Artists work in oil, acrylic or lacquer and build thin glazes that let the metal tone gleam between them.

Hanging and distance
A picture on metal works best with a little distance from the wall, for example through a backing strip or a floating frame. That casts a shadow that underlines the contour. Check size, weight and hanging before you settle on a position.
Careful handling
Fingerprints show clearly on smooth surfaces, so handle the picture with gloves or by the edge. Clean only with a soft, dry cloth. The wall behind should be matte, so it does not double the reflections.
