Velvet matte on paper
Gouache covers like poster paint and glows velvet-matte, which suits collage and drawing on paper well. Mixed media with gouache for sale is ordered here by technique, style and price, from the abstract sheet to the larger work.
Gouache is water-soluble and opaque, dries without gloss and can be applied in flat fields. Combined with paper, ink or pencil, it produces clear shapes and rich tones that do not glitter in backlight. Typical are papers of sufficient weight onto which gouache is laid in several layers. Because the paint can be re-wetted, artists can sharpen or soften edges as long as they work on the sheet.

Narrowing down
Combined techniques are under mixed media, free color fields under Abstract. Larger works often appear in the price band 2,000 to 5,000 euro.
Protecting paper
Gouache stays sensitive to light and reacts to moisture. Frame the work behind glass with a mat. A hanging spot without direct sun and without kitchen steam prolongs the freshness of the colors.
