What this price band offers
Oil on a mixed ground is a demanding combination, since every material takes the paint differently. You can find mixed media with oil paint for sale from 1,000 to 2,000 euro if you appreciate originals of medium to larger size and plenty of craftsmanship.
In this range, originals often show carefully prepared supports, several paint layers and combinations of materials. Oil paint needs time to dry through, which raises the effort behind each work. Often striking is the care in the build-up: primer first, then lean, later richer, so the layers do not crack. This rule shows in a calm, resilient surface that lasts long and is easy to maintain.
