Silhouette instead of detail
Abstraction in diabase means working with shadow: the dark color dissolves detail and leaves the form as a silhouette. Anyone looking for abstract diabase sculptures for sale gets stone with a strong stance and little ornament.
Because diabase is dark and finely structured, the overall form comes forward in abstract work. The polish can show deep black with greenish reflections, ground surfaces look silky, bush-hammered ones dull. Between these states a quiet play arises that travels with the daylight. The stone makes gaps, fissures and edges look especially sharp.

You can narrow down by stone or by the 1,000 to 2,000 euro band. Plan for firm ground and ask for weight and dimensions. The stone tolerates frost and rain, and indoors felt protects furniture. A cloth is enough for care. If you combine several dark pieces, leave distance between them, otherwise the silhouettes melt into one another. A photo in raking light in the listing shows the true surface.
