Color that lives in the material
Abstract work in rubber starts with the question of what a material can say on its own: stretch, tension, gloss, a dent. Anyone who wants abstract rubber sculptures for sale will meet forms from small tabletop pieces to wall-filling hangings.
Rubber is tinted before it cures and can stay translucent while doing so. That makes gradients, trapped air bubbles and layers possible that look like jelly or skin. Matte surfaces appear soft and faintly dusty, polished ones throw streaks of light across the curves. Abstract pieces use exactly that: the eye travels over edges, dents and transitions without searching for a subject.

Soft forms need a clear way of being held, so ask about the hanging method, the core and the weight. Heat and constant sun are best avoided. The price range runs from works at 1,000 to 2,000 euro to larger forms at 2,000 to 5,000 euro, depending on size, the effort of the mold and the number of color layers.
