What originals offer in this range

Printmaking is the classic way to bring original art home on a smaller budget, since one plate can yield several sheets printed by the artist’s own hand. Prints for sale under 500 euro are collected here, with technique, style, and material to choose from.

Under 500 euro, original prints often come as smaller formats, numbered editions, or hand-printed single sheets. The paper carries the image, and the handwork lies in the printing, not in the size. That makes printmaking a good way to start with an original and let a collection grow later.

Technique sets the character

Linocuts have hard contours and flat color, etchings fine lines and velvety blacks. The Impressionist approach dissolves forms into tones, while graphic work relies on clear drawing. Etching, silkscreen, woodcut, and giclée each have their own surface and character.

With the wall in mind

Remember that works on paper need framing. A mat keeps the sheet away from the glass and guards it against damp. Keep it out of sunlight so that color and paper stay the same for long. If you are unsure, ask for a photo of the paper edge and the signature.
