Painting that is pressed
The monotype is the freest form of printing: painted, wiped, and pressed, after which exactly one sheet exists. Monotypes for sale under 500 euro suit you if you value spontaneity above repeatability.
On the plate, paint can be spread, scraped off, and layered as on a small canvas. Only the pull shows what remains. Fine grain and surprising air pockets are typical and intended. The sheet often shows traces of working, such as fingerprints, brush hairs, or plate edges.

Moods from edge to center
Depending on style monotypes feel very different: graphic and bold, minimalist and still, or Impressionist and soft. Acrylic gives matte, fast-drying tones that overlay well. What counts is freshness rather than perfection, and the monotype keeps that for years.
Checking a single piece
Because every monotype is one of a kind, title, year, and signature should appear on the sheet. Ask about paper and measurements of image and sheet. Under 500 euro, handy formats are often found that hang well in groups. Always store sheets flat or framed so that the paint does not stick to neighboring paper.
