Originals in this selection, Surrealism, 500 to 1,000 euro.
Painted realistically, meant unreal
Surrealism paints what is possible in a dream: melting objects, floating rocks, faces that turn into landscape. Surrealist paintings between 500 and 1,000 euro for sale come in techniques like oil on canvas, acrylic, or watercolor.
Precisely because the details are believable, the impossible looks so strong. Shadows are right, perspective is right, only the things stand in the wrong place. This tension holds the eye, and on second look you find something new. The eye looks for an explanation and always finds a new one.

Picture weight and space
Surrealist works at this price level are often large enough to carry a wall. They profit from room around them and from subdued, even lighting. In libraries, practices, and living rooms they provide conversation. Furniture that is too large right underneath takes the air out of the picture.
Watch technique and notes
Acrylic gives smooth scenes, oil paint deep shadows, watercolor floating moods. Check the listing for notes on ground, varnish, and frame. Extra photos of details are worthwhile with finely painted works. Close-ups help to judge the quality of the details.
