Heavy paint, fast arm
The gesture gets weight and warmth from oil on canvas: the paint stays wet, pulls threads, and lets every brush stroke linger. Expressive oil on canvas paintings for sale between 1,000 and 2,000 euro suit those who want matter and movement in one.
Gestural oil lives from the contrast between quick movement and sluggish paint. The brush pulls streaks that ridge up at the edges, the knife pushes paint into crests. Because oil stays wet long, tones mix in the stroke and gradients appear that acrylic hardly reaches.

Rooms that can take force
Oil pictures of this kind need wall space and viewing distance. Pick a wall from which you can see the picture from at least a few steps away. Raking side light shows crests and traces, while frontal light shows the paint as a surface.
Weight and drying
Thickly applied oil paint is heavy and needs months to dry through. Ask about age and varnish and look for a sturdy hanging. The canvas should sit taut; a stretcher with a cross brace stabilizes large formats.
