Originals in this selection, Oil, Expressive and gestural, 1,000 to 2,000 euro.
Dense track, soft edge
Oil paint in a gesture stays wet for long, drags traces, and lets tones flow together within the stroke. Expressive oil pictures for sale between 1,000 and 2,000 euro suit those who want to see the sweep of the brush in dense paint.
Gestural oil allows wide, juicy strokes in which colors touch and mix at the edge. The knife makes crests, a dry brush makes streaks. Oil includes supports such as canvas, wood, or board, each of which makes the paint behave differently.

Quiet for watching
Oily gestures need time to take in. Put the picture in a room where you linger, such as beside a sofa or in a study. Warm, indirect light makes paint look rich; artificial light with a strong blue share can make it cool and flat.
Drying, varnish, care
Ask whether the picture is varnished and how old it is. Fresh thick layers should not be moved before they harden. A dry brush for dusting is enough; liquids have no business on an oil picture.
