Few means, strong effect
Minimalism leaves things out so the little that remains counts: one line, one color field, one edge. You can find minimalist mixed media in acrylic for sale if a single material in the picture should say as much as a whole sentence otherwise would.
Acrylic delivers even surfaces that manage without brush marks. A strip of paper, a seam or a fine texture line is enough to tension the picture. The restraint gives every detail weight. Often it is just a single hue appearing in different saturations, plus a narrow line or a matte edge. In this restraint every irregularity becomes an event, and that is precisely the appeal.
